The Face of Courage: Portraits of the British at War 1940-45 by Eric Kennington

Advertising

Time Out says

An exhibition of around 36 works, featuring figures in the Armed Services, the Auxiliary Services and from London Transport, as well as notable civilians, by Eric Kennington, one of only a handful of official British war artists during both WWI and WWII. Kennington's portraits were widely hailed both as works of art and as morale-boosters. This exhibition, the first to focus specifically on his WWII Art, seeks to reassess Kennington’s contribution to British war art and to acknowledge his standing as a portraitist in the twentieth century.
