To accompany the exhibition ‘“This Bewitching Poison”: The Royal College of Physicians and Alcohol’, this tour takes walkers on a metaphorical journey down eighteenth-century artist William Hogarth’s debauched ‘Gin Lane’. Starting at Lincoln’s Inn Field, the route takes in some of London’s old gin palaces, grooms’ pubs and temperance hostels before heading to the Royal College of Physicians for refreshments and a chance to view the (sobering) exhibition. Advance booking is essential: email to reserve a place.
