If you struggle to carve a turkey then you’ll definitely appreciate the skill involved in this three-day ice-sculpting extravaganza. Teams and individuals wielding chisels and chainsaws will battle it out against each other, and the clock, to carve the ultimate icy creation, inspired by this years themes, Fabulous Fashion and River Life. Professionals will be carving pieces from blocks of ice up to two meters tall and giving free master classes, using mini blocks, to adults and children aged 12 and over. A winter food market will accompany the festival and Canary Wharf’s unusual wind sensitive LED Christmas lights will be on show. All the events are free but on a first come first serve basis so check online for a full line up and show times.

one of the best free events in london the skill of the scultures was fantastick the fun of trying to guess what the block of ice was going to be just adds to the enjoyment of the day, a must visit if you like to take photos, and the yummy food stalls just make it a must do in 2015 well done to the organisers , the hoolla hooppers were fun and the disk jockeys choice of music was second to none and kept everyones feet tapping all day long and into the evening have already added this to my must visit list for next year a good cheap day out after the expence of xmas
Well organised, very good ice sculptures. Good activities for both adults & kids. The masterclass event was good fun. Food stalls were plentiful and not overly expensive. My son loved his luxury hot chocolate.
Sent my friend along last year - I was not able to go. He said that there was a long queue and that he was cold. Er! was my response it is winter and an ice show. Did you wear appropriate clothing? Apparently not. I hope to go along in my fur coat on Saturday. :-)
Excellent event which I would love to go see. Some brilliant talent and it is amazing what you can make with ice!
Wow really didn't know that we had such a festival. Totally different and a brilliant way to expose special skills.
Definitely worth visiting - I've been in previous years - and you are amazed at what they create from a block of ice! the master class, where you try your hand at sculpting something from a small block of ice, really makes you appreciate - as you can easily chisel away too much - the skills and patience involved in creating the master pieces!
Entertaining event for all the family, bringing human weekend life into the open spaces between the towering financial skyscrapers.
Just when everyone is feeling the anti-climax of the post Christmas days, London organises something like this to life the spirits. What a fabulous city!!
We will be there for this, missed similar event in York in December, London always get it right, will be there! 10/10 looking forward to this.
