Set designer Tony Hornecker’s pop-up speakeasy-cum-restaurant down a back alley off Kingsland Road has sadly announced it is closing down.
But, before you start shedding tears, you’ll be glad to hear a new home has been found for the surreal supper clubs where diners were shown to tables surrounded by eccentric props and bric-â-brac and treated to mid-meal entertainment by fabulous drag queen A Man to Pet.
In preparation for the big move, Tony will be auctioning off all the fabulous memorabilia, costumes, chairs and art that littered the space. Head along to get your hands on a little piece of the old Pale Blue Door. A Man to Pet will be overseeing the bidding and there’ll be plenty of Red Stripe on offer - so watch how much you drink before you start bidding!
