The Portrait Choir Singing Day
© Jorge Herrera

Members of the public are invited to rehearse and perform with The Portrait Choir’s Artistic Director Gregory Batsleer, with music chosen to complement the National Portrait Gallery's newest exhibition. The workshop will include rehearsals, a talk from a Gallery Curator on the role of music in the period in question, and a performance in the gallery for visitors. These singing events are open to all singing abilities, an ability to read music is helpful but not essential.

I had a brilliant day and really enjoyed working with Gregory. It was nice to find my voice again which had lain dormant for several years. Gregory made it fun but challenging and I learned a lot through the chosen music. I thought it was quite an achievement to perform in the Gallery at the end of the session. The day included a complimentary ticket to the exhibition and a meal voucher. Great value for £18 and the chance to work with someone who is an expert in his field. Thank you!
