A day ahead of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee River Pageant on the Thames, this alternative flotilla on Regent's Canal offers a raucous salute to the Queen. Rafts, canoes, kayaks, pedalos, even bathtubs are expected to take part, headed by the 'Jubillegal' barge, which will be topped off with a giant papier-mâché sculpture of Her Majesty's head, designed by Hugo Fergusson. Accompanied by a sound system, vessels will paddle a route between Union Wharf and Broadway Market. The meeting point is likely to be Shoreditch Park, N1, but the exact location will be announced nearer the time. See the Facebook page for updates and full details of how to get involved.
