Waltham Forest Council’s annual cycling bonanza returns this weekend, offering cyclists of all experience levels the opportunity to get to know their neighbours and the local landscape on a series of guided rides. Staged in honour of World Car Free Day (which took place on Monday), the cycling event will also feature family-friendly activities, food stalls, entertainment and plenty of pedal-powered fun, with free bike checks on offer from Dr Bike and even the opportunity to borrow a bike for free should you want to take part but don’t own your own set of wheels.
There are three routes for participants to choose from, ranging from a speedy 9km ride up to a 20km trek. Last year’s participants cycled over 5,800km in total, but organisers are confident that 2025’s cohort can do even better. Sign up for free here to take part.
