What a great spot. Lovely cafe with great atmosphere, cute outside area and outstanding service. Trendy teas and coffees. Has really interesting programmes of events/talks/travel books. Emma very friendly and helpful recommend good reads. I would recommend to anyone if you are in Waterloo area must visit
Casual friendly atmosphere, lovely staff, range of drinks and snacks and cake! All that and an interesting bookshop to browse. Workshops and other events held there too. Great place.
Friendliest bookshop with all round inspiration for finding out about countries and their cultures through events, books, yummy cake - with best coffee - from the nicest of staff!
The coffee is blissful, the staff informed, and the ambience calm with unintrusive music - and in the summer a glorious garden. We rely on this culture hub for both the community and our creative outlet.
Just the best, most friendly bookshop and cafe in this part of town - with competition from the titans of culture nearby, it's a great one to support !
This is a really interesting, cultural space run by lovely people. I love the atmosphere. A great place to tuck yourself away and lose yourself for a while away from the hustle and bustle - great cakes and hot chocolate, too...
The friendliest bookshop I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The downstairs café with vegan and gluten-ree options(!) is an oasis of calm from the bustle outside and the varieties of tea are quite exciting- the Thyme one is a favourite.
Wonderful independent bookshop (with well-stocked poetry section), where service is warm and friendly and personal recommendations always open your eyes to interesting new things! Great coffee shop/ event space downstairs for reading, writing and relaxing.
I love spending time in this shop and cafe - there's always something new and interesting to see! It's a great place to find books that you otherwise wouldn't have heard of, and the events are always interesting and varied!
Amazing variety of interesting books, browse at your leisure and you'll find something, probably several books to buy. Then go and have some refreshment in the basement - again a fantastic selection of food, and the staff are immensely knowledgable and friendly.
Travelling Through is such a gem! A beautiful collection of books about - and from - a wealth of places from across this beautiful world. Curated by the lovely Emma, this is the place to go if you've a spare moment in Waterloo (though absolutely worth a trip in itself!) - whether for browsing the shelves upstairs or tasting one of their delicious mochas in the quiet coffeeshop downstairs (complete with exhibitions from local artists!), you'll have a wonderful time.
Charming, thought-provoking, educational, peaceful. Travelling Through is a wonderful place to while away an hour to find that perfect book and then enjoy it with a cuppa. I attended the Novel London event there recently and got a chance to hear powerful voices of up and coming local London authors - fabulous!
Travelling Through is a proper neighbourhood bookstore - from its witty window displays, fantastic selection of books, great coffee, good food, art exhibitions, events, poetry and book readings, warm welcomes and a secret courtyard space to relax in, Emma has created something lovely. Go, have a drink, enjoy the atmosphere, buy a book!
It has lots of interesting events from book readings, art installations, talks on travel adventures, art and photography. There are book club evenings and regular philosophy nights. The cafe is a great place to relax, a friendly team and ... its a book shop covering all dimensions of travel. What more could you want?
This is a great travel bookshop, it's small but feels huge as the books take you all around the world! And there's always interesting art on the walls and lovely coffee and cakes.
It's so intimate. The staff are always so friendly and always remember what I order. it's the only place you can go to get a bit of peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the office and lower marsh. They always have a great play list on too! Great collection of books.
A labour of love from the carefully selected books to the amazing coffee and food served downstairs. Fast internet and a quiet place to meet and work from.
Great little independent book store. The customer service in this shop is one of the best you will find in London. Incredibly caring and will go out of your way to help where possible. Also under-promoted is the coffee downstairs. Run by a kiwi guy who knows his stuff.
A relaxing and friendly place to visit with great coffees, cakes and a terrific selection of travel/cultural books, ranging from novels, cookbooks, guides etc.
The staff are very knowledgable and friendly. whenever i enter the shop i am instantly inspired and cant wait to organise my next trip. I could spend hours here!
Book delivery was great - so even if they didn't have a book it is delivered in 1-3 days. Great to use an independent local bookshop, funky and interesting coffee and things to eat too!
All to often its either the big boys or food and fashion
there must be more to life and this little shop offers so much more than books it can bring back the need for words and culture like JK rowling gave us back reading this little shop gives us bak the desire to enjoy books and be encouraged to learn more about what make up todays society
Great independent bookshop with a downstairs cafe selling excellent food and a selection of teas and coffees. Regular events including poetry readings and exhibitions in the cafe. A terrific addition to Lower Marsh
I love having this bookstore full of interesting novels and travel guides from all corners as a local! It is so much more than a bookstore though with a cafe downstairs and regular talks by authors and artists and space for featured photograph and art displays!
I dropped in earlier this week and it was absolutely charming! A great selection of books about Japan (just what I was looking for) and some lovely secondhand books to boot, not to mention A+ chocolate cake!
As a Waterloo resident I was so pleased to see this wonderful independent open up in my neighbourhood. Great coffee, fantastic books and lots of interesting events. Love the walled garden with it's flowers and tomato plants. A great addition to Lower Marsh.
