If you've always fancied yourself a master of tiny lute-based instruments, then head down to southeast London this weekend to show off your skills. All abilities are welcome, after all. Even if you've never picked up a ukulele before or you have children (ages 6-9) who want to have a go, Ukulele Meets Sibelius has got you covered. Led by the Alternative Sibelius Project – a series of events in England and Finland celebrating different perspectives on music – and London ukulele peddlers, the Duke of Uke, these workshops cater for individual novices, dab-hands wishing to improve and ensembles. The weekend culminates in a concert (Sun, 5pm) featuring Finnish musician Jarmo Julkunen.
