Maybe you’re nurturing a child prodigy, or perhaps you’re a bit of a wizz on the fiddle yourself. Either way, the British Violin Makers Association’s annual show of violins, violas, cellos and bows from more than 40 traditional craftsmen is worth investigating. Try out the instruments in one of four players’ rooms and meet their creators, or simply sit back and enjoy a half hour concert by the Jubilee Quartet (2pm). There will be lots of instruments on sale and some of the makers take commissions.
