St John's Waterloo hosts events for the Waterloo Festival with a theme of ‘War and Peace’, including concerts, theatre performances, walks, workshops and a fête (Jul 15 2-5pm); free. Daily 'Paradise Street' performances, inspired by women’s stories about living, loving and surviving in Waterloo during WWII, take place in the crypt (7.30pm; £12, concs £8), there's also a tea dance (Jul 13 2pm; free, booking essential) and the 'Waterloo Celebrates' community event at which local groups present in words and music their responses to the theme of the festival (Jul 17 7.30pm; free, booking essential).
