At this weekend of family-friendly Christmas activities at the wonderful nature reserve (normal admission prices apply) you can enjoy a husky sleigh ride, pay a visit to Santa in his pine-forest grotto (£5 per child, incl a goodie bag) or meet a Polar Explorer in this Base Camp, hear his stories of adventure and make your own explorer's gadgets from recycled material (£3 per child, incl gift).
The Winter Wetland Show will explain what creates cold weather, and the amazing strategies different animals and birds use to survive it, while Craneberry Fest connects the spindly wading bird with and cranberries - and offers a craneberry trail, treats in the site's restaurants, and an opportunity to make cranberry Christmas decorations (for which there's an extra charge).
