Arts and community complex Woolwich Works is going all out for Pride this year, with a packed programme of drag, cabaret, screenings, comedy and more over June and July. The headline event is Queer Euphoria on June 19, an immersive cabaret and circus show from circus artist Zaki Musa, featuring aerial artistry, theatrical storytelling, and boundary-pushing acts.
Elsewhere, look out for a special 30th anniversary screening of the beloved British coming-of-age story Beautiful Thing on June 6, which was set and filmed in nearby Thamesmead. On June 12, a Divas-themed karaoke night will provide a soundtrack of iconic LGBTQ+ anthems. On June 21 comedian Clare Summerskill will be bringing the laughs. LGBTQ+ Greenwich presents family party Proud Together on June 27, hosted by Hungarian drag queen Candy Heals. There’s a Drag Queen Storytime on June 28 hosted by drag princess Topsie Redfern (aka acclaimed West End actor Nathan Kiley), and closing out the programme is Drag & Fab on July 11, a high-energy queer cabaret.
