The Women of the World festival has knocked it out of the park this year with a programme that champions a rich cross-section of female talent, increasing the visibility of LGBT women and women of colour on its panels. But the stand out show is Hejira, a live performance of the eponymous Joni Mitchell album from the Nu Civilisation Orchestra. The orchestra will be joined by Mercury Prize nominee Lisa Hannigan, British-Egyptian poet Sabrina Mahfouz and other artists to interpret the album’s theme of female migration.
