Your Story Festival at Union Chapel

This summer Union Chapel is blessing London with three whole months of free events and exhibitions. The inaugural Your Story Festival coincides with the reopening of the venue’s Sunday School and strives to amplify the voices of young creatives and underrepresented groups. Things commence on June 18 with film screenings and an exhibition centred on ‘protest and recognition in queer Islington’. From then on, there’s a programme of kids treasure hunts, gastronomic experiences introducing visitors to foods of the world and spoken word showcases. It’ll culminate in a finale on September 19, featuring a youth fashion show, a showcase of poetry, rap, beatboxing, music, and visual art responding to Islington’s social justice and a theatre performance that changes the narrative around homelessness and poverty.
