The best European city breaks

Sure, there are more than enough amazing things going on in this town to keep us entertained, but even the most hardened lover of London wants a break once in a while. But where to go? The countryside is great and all but the prospect of wax jackets, wellies, zero internet, shops shutting at five (and pubs not long after...) and waiting all night for taxis that never turn up isn't all that enticing to those of us who love the hustle and bustle of a city. 

So we thought it would be a good idea to put together a list of great hotels in some of Europe's very best cities. And while it's difficult to beat London, there's some serious fun to be had in Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon and Paris – and some awesome places to stay, too. Don't believe us? Take a look below.
