Charlie Brooker: How Videogames Changed the World

With Idris Elba having covered the world-changing impact of hip hop and clubbing, Brooker steps into the big man’s breech for this examination of a nerdier, more solitary cultural pursuit. Except that gaming is now cooler and more sociable than it has ever been, to the point of becoming perhaps the most innovative contemporary art form, as Brooker may or may not assert in acerbic fashion.

He’ll also be delving deep into the past, with the home-gaming of ‘Pong’ and arcade frolics of ‘Pacman’ and Space Invaders’ fondly recalled alongside the modern-day phenomena of ‘Angry Birds’, ‘Grand Theft Auto’ and so on. Fellow fans Jonathan Ross and Dara O Briain join him for what should be an absolute blast, with decent replay potential.
