As LA continues to grow more and more parched, Earth Day 2015 has never been more relevant. Besides educational workshops and recycling initiatives, these six events give you the chance to bring home an actual tree while catching live music and comedy and even eating ice cream

1. Grand Park Earth Day Celebration (Wednesday, 9am-2pm). One of the largest celebrations is at Grand Park in Downtown. You can drop off your e-waste, listen to live music, learn about electric vehicles and take part in gardening demos, all the while eating free Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Oh, and if you're one of the lucky folks who owns a home in LA, you can even take home a tree. (200 North Grand Ave.)

2. UCLA's Earth Day Fair 2015 (Wednesday, 10am-2pm). The Earth Day Fair is the centerpiece of UCLA's month of environment-related activities. The on-campus event includes a Green Chef competition, a sustainable art competition and the release of the first comprehensive environmental report card for Los Angeles County (LA County got a C+). (Dickson Court North on UCLA campus)

3. City of Torrance Earth Day Recycling Event (Saturday, 8am-12pm). Do your spring cleaning while being environmentally conscious at the City of Torrance Earth Day Recycling Event. If you need to drop off that dated TV that doesn't work, shred a bunch important documents (who doesn't in LA?) or clean out old shoes and clothing, you need to be here. (190th and Van Ness)

4. Bombplex Presents: Lynz's Birthday Featuring Aly Tadros (Sunday, 4:30pm-9pm). If you love comedy, music and Earth Day-specific art in a house (yes, that's right, a house), this Highland Park event is a great way to celebrate. You'll get hours of intimate entertainment including headliner and special musical guest, Aly Tadros while celebrating the birthday of one of the Bombplex's own, Lynz Floren. (Must purchase online ticket first)

5. #Earthday134 (May 2, 10am-2pm). This is a great event if you live in the Glendale area and if you've got other plans on Earth Day. Enjoy food trucks and live entertainment, attend environmental workshops and learn about a concept study taking place called Space134 on yes, the 134 freeway. (200 block of Maryland Place)

6. Just want to volunteer? Here are 5 local organizations that are all about making the world a better, greener place.

Also, don't forget about the LA River. This Saturday is the Annual LA River Cleanup
