If you (or your little ones) have ever imagined being a fairy-tale creature dwelling in an enchanted forest, Descanso Gardens in Pasadena wants to make your dreams come true. For a limited time this winter, one of L.A.’s best garden spaces will open at night for visitors to explore magical light displays and interactive environments.

Enchanted: Forest of Light will be on display right in time for holiday lights season, from November 25 to January 8. As you walk along the mile-long pathway, you’ll move through 10 different colorfully illuminated displays. You’ll want to schedule about an hour for your stroll.

While kids are sure to love the event as well, adults can make a charming date night out of it with special dinner service at the buzzy and beautiful new restaurant Maple, normally only open for brunch.

Unlike a normal day at Descanso, you won’t be able to just walk up and pay your admission, so be sure to plan ahead. Tickets are on sale now online and you’ll need to reserve a particular date and time to arrive. You’ll also need to already have your ticket booked in order to make a reservation for dinner at Maple, if that is on your agenda.

Enchanted: Forest of Light is on display nightly from 5 to 10pm at Descanso Gardens from Nov 25 to Jan 8, 2017. Advance ticket purchase is required; ticket prices range from $24 to $28 (Descanso members receive a 15 percent discount).
