Golden Road Brewing opens up a boozy gastropub at LAX

Golden Road Brewing has had quite the year. In September, beer giant Anheuser-Busch bought the craft brewery; in November, a massive second location opened in Anaheim. Even Grand Central Market got in on the action—this past March, the Golden Road Brewing beer counter opened inside the Downtown food hall. What's next—LAX?

Yup. Golden Road, along with global restaurateur HMSHost, just opened Point the Way Café, a gastropub in LAX's Terminal 6 (American Eagle and Alaska Airlines). The gastropub joins Wahoo's Fish Tacos, the Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, Habit Burger and a few other spots. It's offering starters, flatbreads, sandwiches, burgers and all the Golden Road Beer you could dream of. You'll find favorite house taps—think Get Up Offa That Brown, Wolf Among Weeds and Berliner Weisse—along with Founder Favorites, like Heal the Bay IPA, Four Star Pilsner from Goose Island and Toasted Lager from Blue Point. A rotating list of seasonal beers and pub-only releases will be made available to travelers as well. Cocktails and wine are also on the drink menu, but might we recommend opting for a beer at a gastropub?

Point the Way Café will be open for breakfast in addition to lunch and dinner, serving hearty breakfast burritos, scrambles and sandwiches along with Stumptown coffee. We don't necessarily advocate knocking a few pints back at 9am, but if that's what you have to do to get through a six hour flight, we guess a pilsner would go well with a croissant breakfast sandwich. Now here's hoping your flight is on time.
