In case you've been living under a rock—a totally soundproof, insulated rock—Brad and Angelina called it quits. What is love anymore? Is it real? What is life? Who are we as people? Clearly this calls for a drink, and there are a couple spots around the city that just launched a happy hour with discounted drinks to cry into.
1212 (Santa Monica): There aren't many reasons to head to the 3rd St Promenade during rush hour, but happy hour at 1212 is justifiable. Offered in both the upstairs lounge and downstairs bar, visitors can sip on $7 glasses of wine, $6 beers (plus a buy one, get one for $1 Coors Light option!) and $9 cocktails. There are also small bites for $5: mushroom arancini, pork belly sliders, baked parmigiano fries and more. There's nothing like getting a little buzzed before shopping at the Promenade. Westbound (Arts District): Have you been to Westbound yet? The Downtown Arts District bar is a solid spot to grab cocktails, but after a couple cocktails and bites here, your bill can add up. Enter Westbound's late-night happy hour, a celebration for night owls. From midnight to 2am, visitors can snack on fried pork rillette ($9), chips and dip ($7) and beef tartare ($15), along with $10 classic cocktails, like the Blue Lagoon, Gold Rush and Paloma. The Flintridge Proper (La Cañada Flintridge): An incredible gin collection is housed at this La Cañada Flintridge gastropub, but their new happy hour food menu is worth a gander as well. Fried chicken sliders ($5), deviled eggs ($2), hamachi and watermelon bites ($4), and a New England lobster roll ($7) populate the menu, as do $1.50 oysters. There's also a sizeable selection of cheeses and meats to craft your own charcuterie board. Daily 3-6pm; Sun-Thu 9pm-close; Fri, Sat 10pm-close
Mexico City (Los Feliz): The neighborhood staple recently debuted a new happy hour menu with all the necessities: $5 margaritas, $3 tequila shots, $4 tacos and $6 guacamole. Honestly, what more do you need? Mon all night; Tue-Fri 7:30pm-close; Fri, Sat 9-11pm
