It’s no secret that we’re major fans of L.A.’s craft beer scene. There are so many amazing beer bars with great selections and breweries whipping up totally new beers never tasted before, right here in the city. And, since the thirst for beer can never be fully quenched, there’s always a supply of new spots to check out. To keep you up to date on all the brew news, here are some of the most recent happenings we’re sudsed up about right now.

Beer Belly: The beloved beer bar and French fry emporium that has called L.A.’s Koreatown home since 2011 is branching out—all the way to Long Beach. The gastropub, now open at Third Street and Long Beach Boulevard, wanted to make sure the LBC location had a distinctly local feel, so the food and bar menus will be just a bit different at this new iteration.

Karl Strauss Brewing: On Monday, San Diego’s oft-awarded brewery Karl Strauss will open a new flagship brewpub in DTLA. At over 12,000 square feet with 359 seats, it’s a pretty sprawling beer palace. Fans of the brand have been able to get their fix with a mini location at Universal City, but this is the first L.A. location intended for locals. The taproom will have 24 Karl Strauss brews at a time, a mix of ones brought in from the San Diego HQ and brewed on-site at this new pub.

Los Angeles Ale Works: Coming soon is this new brewery operation opening in Hawthorne. Los Angeles Ale Works has been in the works, as it were, for five years already, including launching their first small-scale beers in 2013 after a successful Kickstarter funding campaign. They’ve decided to expand the project into a big, shiny new brewery complete with tasting room, expected to open before the end of 2016.

Yorkshire Square Brewery: For classic British-style cask ales, and all the associated English pub trappings, this new spot will have you driving out to Torrance to knock back a few pints. The company’s president hails from Yorkshire, England, thus the name. Look for an opening date to be announced soon.
