How to see Dane Cook, Whitney Cummings and other big-name comedians perform for free

In LA, fighting through tons of traffic and an even greater number of egos can come with a payoff. Having access to world famous comedians you've seen in commercials, on TV and in the movies for free is one of those. Why is that? It all comes down to supply and demand—you know, that basic economic principle you learned about a million years ago. Supply & Demand is also the name of the comedy show you can see for free Wednesday nights at the Laugh Factory that features some of the best in-demand names in the business.

Here's how it works.

1. The first 50 tickets are free. After that, the price goes up to $5 for the next 50, $10 for the next 50, $15 for the next 50, and finally, $20 if you really can't plan ahead.

2. To get the free tickets, you need to go to ComedySupply.com

3. Click on the date, check out the line-up (remember, several names may drop-in unannounced because this is LA) and enter your info and number of tickets you want. Then, click "Next Step" and you'll find out what/if you're paying. If it's in one of the tiered prices, you'll have to enter your credit card information. If it's free, just click "Check Out."

4. Look for your email confirmation and show up at the Laugh Factory box office to get your free or heavily discounted tickets.

5. Laugh your ass off with a show hosted by Steve Hofstetter and has included world famous talent like Dane Cook, Tom Papa, Neal Brennan, Iliza Shlesinger and Tommy Davidson. Tonight, Whitney Cummings (and many other great comedians) will take the stage.

Stand-up comedy may be hard, but seeing it for free can be pretty easy.
