Love video games so much you wish you could climb inside one and really live it? You're about to get your chance. The Resident Evil series is celebrating 20 years and the launch of the newest game in the series with a live escape room experience. It’s only for three weeks—and only in L.A.

The escape room at Echo Park’s iam8bit gallery takes its cues from the horror-survival concept of the game series, so be prepared for some scares, and leave any little ones at home. Curious about what might be in the seventh game in the series, the forthcoming Resident Evil 7: Biohazard? If you watch carefully, this live experience will give some hints at what to expect, according to Dread CentralThe experience will also include elements pulled from all of the previous games, so whichever is your personal fave, you’ll be able to get immersed right into it.

In addition to the escape room challenge, iam8bit will host a gallery show dedicated to Resident Evil art. Should you need to take home a souvenir to add to your collection of video-game-inspired home décor (because really, who doesn’t?) limited edition prints and other event-exclusive merchandise will be on sale.

Tickets are available for groups of up to six at a time, but if you really need to throw an edgy Halloween party or a zombie-biowarfare-puzzle-themed corporate team-building session, the gallery is taking private bookings.

Resident Evil Escape Room Experience runs Thursdays to Sundays from October 21 to November 5, from 6:30pm to 11:30pm. Tickets are $35; participants must be at least 17 years old.
