Oh, happy day! This morning we received news that the Eastside Food Festival is back at Mack Sennett Studios for another year of celebrating the Eastside's culinary scene, packed with coveted vendors, celebrity chefs, discussion panels and music. While the complete lineup of vendors is still being filled out for the October 18 event, a few standout restaurants have been announced: Alimento, El Condor, L&E Oyster Bar, Homestate, Little Beast, Sticky Rice, Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream, Ohana Poke Co. and Dune. And if any of you are all like, "Hey, some of these spots aren't in East LA," the festival acknowledges this point, saying on their website, "In our version of the east side, we basically include all neighborhoods east of Western. This includes Los Feliz, Silverlake, East Hollywood, Koreatown, DTLA, Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Atwater, Echo Park, etc. The goal is to support locally owned and operated businesses in all of our local communities on the east side." We're not going to argue with that.

Early Bird tickets ($40-$70) are now on sale for a limited time here, and include non-drinker, GA and VIP categories. What does each ticket get you? A non-drinker ticket includes all you can eat/drink access from food and soft drink vendors from 5-8pm, while a GA ticket tacks on three bar drinks. A VIP ticket allows for early entry at 4pm, plus exclusive VIP hour food tastings and demos, a gift bag and five bar tickets. Get your tickets now—prices will increase by $20 if you wait to buy them at the door.

The Eastside Food Festival will be held on Oct 18 at Mack Sennett Studios from 4-8pm; visit their website for more information.
