UPDATED 8/25: Crumbs & Whiskers is officially opening its doors to the public on September 30. Appointments will vary by price and duration, with a standard 75-minute reservation running $22. Reservation booking will be available on September 21.
If you happen to be some sort of cat world socialite, then you may be interested in scoping out the spot a couple of weeks early. From September 15 through 29, the cafe will open exclusively to guests who've been invited, won a contest or have paid for an all-access charity pass ($200 for you and a guest, available September 7).

We've endured teases of a cat café coming to LA for what feels like an eternity—in cat years, at least. There was a short-lived "catfé" pop-up in 2014, but since then we've yet to see a coffee shop with cat cuddling on the menu (though there is a full-fledged dog café). That's about to change, though, thanks to one dedicated cat lady from D.C.
Crumbs & Whiskers, a Washington D.C.-based cat café, will be setting up shop in Los Angeles this fall. It'll be opening at 7924 Melrose Avenue, just west of Fairfax and short of the West Hollywood border.
So what can you expect from Crumbs & Whiskers? Founder Kanchan Singh describes it as a place where you can grab a cup of coffee and cuddle with some cats. And judging by the current D.C. shop, it should have pretty swanky digs to match its adorable—and adoptable—cats.
Like all efforts at adoptable animal cafés in LA, there's a small catch: You can't actually prepare food in the same space as you house animals. As a result, Crumbs & Whiskers will source its drinks and snacks from a local eatery to-be-named.
The original D.C. outpost offers reservable 75-minute time slots for $15 and an all-day pass for $35. That's in addition to snacks and sips—think "cat-uccino"—for under $5.
