There's going to be an ice cream bonanza at Smorgasburg this weekend

Now that the May gray and June gloom skies have finally cleared, summer is back in all its stifling, sizzling glory. Essentially, it's perfect ice cream weather. Oh, it's National Ice Cream Day this Sunday? And Smorgasburg happens to fall on a Sunday? What a delightful coincidence.

On July 17, make your way over to the new food market in Downtown LA for Smorgasburg's special ice cream celebration from 10am-6pm. After downing some of that new Singaporean chili crab from Summer Crab, head to the pop-up ice cream section where LA's best ice cream shops will be slinging some fantastic scoops. Sweet Rose Creamery, Salt & Straw, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Smitten Ice Cream, Peddler's Creamery, Wanderlust, Sprinkles, Little Spoon Frozen Pudding and Smile will all be selling their inventive flavors to market attendees. A couple permanent vendors will be getting in on the action too, with special creations from Donut Friend and Good Gravy Bakes.

If you can't make it this Sunday, your ice cream obsession can still be fulfilled with this gem: an eight-course ice cream dinner from chef Kyle Schutte.

Ah, summer. It's the most wonderful time of the year.
