This video breaks down all the ballot propositions to emoji so we can finally understand them

We here in California expect a lot of our citizens when they show up to vote. There’s much more on the ballot here than Trump versus Clinton, including 17 individual ballot proposition measures. Figuring out all the details before you show up to the polls can be a bit of a time commitment, but the L.A. Times has figured out how to convey it in language we can all get down with: emoji.

To accompany their 2016 voter guide, they crafted a quick little video that will give you an idea of what each measure is about in just a couple of well-chosen emoji.

Watch the video and you’ll see the money-related emoji come up almost every time. Mostly it’s the sack of coins, but you’ll also see a stack of cash flying away (to soaring health care costs) and the dollar-sign-eyes-green-tongue-face when it gets to Prop 55, which would extend and hold stable the current tax rates on incomes over $250,000.

The ever-popular eggplant emoji even makes an appearance, when the video arrives at Prop 60, a measure requiring adult film performers to use condoms that polls suggest is likely to be approved.

Now we just need them to make another video for all the local-level referenda, too... Unless they expect us to read actual words?
