Friday

Transport yourself to the tropics on Friday night with May Day is Lei Day at Tiki No. With a $6 tropical cocktail in hand, throw on a free lei and get your hula dancing on at the NoHo tiki bar.

Afterwards, awaken the force at Das Bunker's Star Wars Dance Party. Whether Jedi or Sith, show up to the industrial club night at Los Globos—you'll have to get past the bounty hunter-themed "security" first—in your best Star Wars garb for a late night of drinks and dancing.

Saturday

There's a super secret Rodarte sample sale going on today (likely Downtown) that's tight on details. We can tell you, though, that you'll be able to grab everything from high-end tees to dresses and those ultra-trendy sweatshirts for up to 70% off. More details here.

Mark the release of Best Coast's new album with an afternoon of free activities at the Oinkster in Hollywood. Shop the band's personal garage sale while gulping down a Best Coast-inspired shake.

Can't make it to the ballet? Watch some of the latest and best takes on dance unfold on the big screen at Dance Camera West's 14th annual film festival. With events held across the city, tonight's top pick for the fest is a screening of American Cheerleader at the Aero; the documentary follows two competing squads as they compete for the high school championship.

If you prefer your films with some wholesome violence and a ton of f-bombs, then make your way to True Romance Fest. It's been over two decades since Tony Scott's cocaine-fueled, Tarantino-penned crime romance came out, but fans still flock to the Safari Inn in Burbank for this screening, costume contest and meet-up.

Sunday

Today's your last chance to see Sink or Swim at the Annenberg Space for Photography. The photography exhibit, curated by KCRW's Frances Anderton, uses stunning images to show how countries have responded to climate change, from sea walls in Japan to floating schools in Bangladesh.

While you're on the Westside, make your way into the Santa Monica Mountains for Mercado Sagrado. This two-day nature-lovers' market is either your Shangri-La or a nightmare depending how you feel about local artisans, essence readings and all organic everything—we're willing to give it a pass because of its serene setting in Malibu Canyon.

If you'd prefer to spend the day on the Eastside, get a few miles and a whole lot of staircases in during the second day of the Big Parade. Hop on this ambitious walk at any point during the day for talks and tours of Silver Lake and Los Feliz.

Reward all that walking with a stop in the Arts District for the Angel City Heritage Festival. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Downtown brewery of just relax, listen to the music, fill up on grub from local food trucks knock back a few beers.
