Opera at the Beach

See a simulcast of LA Opera’s production of Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story on the Santa Monica Pier with the sound of breaking waves in the background. The production will also be shown across town at Opera in the Park—held at the newly restored Loma Alta Park in Altadena. This yearly live broadcast extends the opera outside of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, making it accessible to all and pairing it with educational activities (learn about jets in Altadena, sharks in Santa Monica), close-up magic, free arts and crafts, and food from local vendors for the perfect combination of culture and community.
