Blank Street is bringing its coffee and matcha to Beverly Hills and Studio City

Los Angeles, meet your next coffee obsession. This June, fast-rising coffee and matcha chain Blank Street is heading west, opening its first LA locations in Beverly Hills and Studio City.
Founded in 2020 in New York, Blank Street has grown at a pace most coffee brands can only dream of. With more than 90 locations already spread across cities like New York, Boston, Washington DC and London, the brand is closing in on its 100th store just as it lands in what many consider the matcha capital of the U.S. It’s a fitting move for a company that’s built its name on drinks that are as photogenic as they are craveable.
If you’ve spent any time on TikTok, you’ve probably seen their signature blueberry matcha—a pastel-hued drink that’s become something of a social media fixture. But Blank Street’s appeal goes beyond viral hits. Its menu leans into seasonal, slightly indulgent creations (lemon loaf matcha and cherry glaze matcha are two other recent offerings) that still feel accessible, mirroring the direction LA’s café scene has been heading in recent years.
The brand’s aesthetic is just as appealing. With minimalist interiors washed in soft sage green, the cafés feel both calming and camera-ready. It’s a look that’s helped cultivate a loyal following, especially among the celebrity and influencer crowd. Sabrina Carpenter even worked a barista shift at a London location last year to promote her single “Espresso,” while Kendall Jenner collaborated via her 818 tequila brand on coffee-based cocktails. Emma Chamberlain has also partnered with the café, further cementing its pop culture footprint.
More recently, Blank Street has stepped into lifestyle territory with the launch of “The Sleeve,” a fashion-forward sleeve for both hot and cold beverages, timed to fashion week and already making waves in style circles.
In a city that takes its coffee—and its matcha—seriously, Blank Street’s arrival seems inevitable. So mark your calendars and get ready to queue up for that trendy matcha, starting this June.
