Barbie is celebrating her birthday the most Los Angeles way possible: for a full month and with an Erewhon smoothie.
The iconic Mattel doll turned another year older on March 9 (turns out, Barbie's a Pisces) and, to mark the occasion, debuted a limited-edition smoothie at Erewhon. Called the “Birthday Wish Smoothie by Barbie,” the bright pink blend lands squarely in the lineage of the store’s famously buzzy celebrity collaborations.
For Angelenos, the pairing feels shocking only because why didn't this happen during the Barbenheimer of it all? But however long it took, two icons of California are finally teaming up. In other words: Malibu Barbie has officially entered the Erewhon smoothie universe.

Like many of the viral smoothies before it, the Barbie version packs a long list of organic ingredients into a pastel-colored blend. Inspired by vanilla cake batter, the recipe includes oat milk from MALK Organics, coconut water from Harmless Harvest, organic banana, pitaya, goji berries and maple syrup, plus gluten-free oats and Erewhon’s Regenerative Organic Certified A2 whey protein. The drink is topped with coconut whip and sprinkles from Good Dee’s. It wouldn’t really be a Barbie birthday without a little sparkle, now would it?
The collaboration is the latest addition to a very specific corner of L.A. pop culture: Erewhon’s celebrity smoothie club. Previous partnerships have included drinks inspired by stars like Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Olivia Rodrigo. But Barbie’s birthday smoothie adds a philanthropic twist. For every drink sold, $2 will be donated to the Barbie Dream Gap Project, an initiative focused on closing the confidence gap that often emerges between girls and boys starting at a young age.
