The experts at 50 Top Pizza have revealed their 2026 picks for the best pizza in the U.S. and California made a spectacular showing this year. New York’s legendary Una Pizza Napoletana secured the number one spot for the fifth consecutive year, but Los Angeles’ very own Pizzeria Sei was named number two.
Pizzeria Sei tied for second place with San Francisco’s iconic Tony’s Pizza Napoletana. Known for its intimate, counter-seating setup and meticulous craftsmanship, Pizzeria Sei has officially cemented LA as a world-class pizza destination. Under the guidance of master pizzaiolo William Joo, the restaurant blends Tokyo-style Neapolitan technique with premium ingredients, resulting in a light, airy crust with a perfect char that has captivated both local pizza enthusiasts and international judges.
But Pizzeria Sei and Tony's Pizza Napoletana were not the only California pizza joints to land a coveted spot on the list. The state made a splash across the entire 2026 guide with six entries, proving that top-tier pies aren't exclusive to the East Coast.
Truly Pizza in Dana Point landed at number four and took home the prestigious Pizza of the Year for its spectacular, flavor-packed umami mushroom pie. Flour House in San Luis Obispo captured the number 22 spot with its authentic, vibrant wood-fired creations. Nardò in Huntington Beach and Tribute Pizza in San Diego also made the list.
By placing in the top 15, both Pizzeria Sei and Tony’s Pizza Napoletana have officially qualified for the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World. They will head to the global stage on September 15 for the world awards ceremony in Naples, Italy.
