Los Angeles has never exactly been lacking in places to grab a green juice, an acaí bowl or avocado toast. But that hasn't stopped Miami-born café brand Pura Vida Miami from rapidly planting its flag across Southern California.
The all-day café and lifestyle brand officially opened its newest Los Angeles location on May 7, taking over a prime stretch of Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood at 8720 Sunset Boulevard. The new store is Pura Vida Miami's fourth California location, following expansions into Beverly Hills, Malibu and South Coast Plaza.
If you've spent any time in Miami, you've probably encountered the brand already. Founded in 2012 by Omer and Jennifer Horev, Pura Vida has grown from a single neighborhood cafe into a nationwide operation with more than 50 locations spread across Florida, New York, California, Maryland and New Jersey.
The latest outpost lands right in the middle of one of LA's most image-conscious and wellness-obsessed neighborhoods. "We've been incredibly humbled by the response we've received since entering California last year," said co-founder and CEO Omer Horev in a statement. "Los Angeles has been an important market for us and Sunset Boulevard felt like the right next step."
In the new cafe, expect a bright, airy space filled with warm wood finishes, natural materials and plenty of greenery, along with indoor and outdoor seating designed to accommodate everything from morning coffee runs to midday work sessions.
The menu leans heavily into health-conscious fare. Signature avocado toasts, pasture-raised egg dishes, wraps, salads and grain bowls headline the food offerings, while coffee drinks, matcha, smoothies, cold-pressed juices and acaí bowls round out the beverage side. The company also notes that its food is prepared without seed oils and emphasizes seasonal ingredients, premium proteins and whole grains.
The new location is now open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 8 am to 8 pm. Delivery and pickup are also available through the Pura Vida Miami app.
