Los Angeles is no stranger to good looks and the city's restaurants are no exception. Robb Report released its annual list of the Most Beautiful New Restaurants in America for 2025, and two L.A. spots made the cut: Cento Raw Bar and Lucia.

The list includes restaurants in Chicago, New York City, Las Vegas and beyond, spotlighting restaurants that opened over the past year and made design as much a priority as the food. Six California restaurants landed on the list overall; here's what made L.A.'s two entries special.

Robb Report dubs Cento Raw Bar, ranked number five, as "whimsical" and "the most playful entry" on the list. Opened in May 2025, the seafood-focused spot comes from chef Avner Levi, who also owns the neighboring Cento Pasta Bar. The space is designed to feel like the inside of an oyster shell, with creamy, textured walls that create a soft, cavern-like atmosphere. Custom shellfish towers made in Santa Monica could be mistaken for sculpture. Vintage Italian lounge chairs add a relaxed, old-world feel. Even the glassware comes from MoMA. It’s whimsical without being precious, immersive without being overwhelming. "It’s an immersive experience, one that Cento pulls off with ease," says the report.

Lucia, ranked number 20, delivers a different kind of beauty. Also opened in May 2025, the upscale Afro-Caribbean restaurant is the first solo venture from founder Sam Jordan. Where Cento leans playful, Lucia leans dramatic. Designed by Alexis Readinger of Preen, Inc., the room is built around sculpture. The white terrazzo bar is crowned with three towering 18-foot verdigris palm sculptures that pull the eye upward. Velvet booths sit inside dome-like enclosures that echo shell shapes, giving the space a sense of intimacy even when it’s buzzing. The design draws from Caribbean influences and pairs them with a glamorous 1950s-era sensibility. According to Robb Report, it's "an opulent combination that just works."

The rest of California’s winners include Lilo in Carlsbad, Lucien in La Jolla, Bar Issi in Palm Springs and Via Aurelia in San Francisco.
