The Star Alliance Lounge at LAX has once again received accolades on the world stage. For the sixth year in a row, this exclusive haven has been named North America’s Leading Airport Lounge at the World Travel Awards 2025, a streak that cements its A-list status.

The announcement was made on October 4 at the Caribbean & The Americas Gala Ceremony in Saint Lucia, where the industry’s best gathered to celebrate global travel excellence. The World Travel Awards, founded in 1993, are basically the Oscars of tourism, so this win is a serious nod from the pros bringing well-deserved bragging rights.

Star Alliance CEO Theo Panagiotoulias called the recognition “especially meaningful,” crediting both the travelers who keep coming back and the team that keeps things running smoothly. “This achievement is thanks to the dedicated team whose hard work keeps the LAX lounge running every day,” he said.

So what makes this lounge the best in North America? For starters, it’s 18,000 square feet of calm and California cool. It's one of a handful of Star Alliance lounges created by local architects, reflecting local flair. The outdoor terrace steals the show with firepits, a soothing water wall and panoramic views stretching all the way to the Hollywood Hills. By day, it’s sunlit and breezy; by night, it glows with a laid-back, fire-lit vibe that feels more rooftop bar than airport lounge.

Inside, travelers can grab a cocktail, snack on fresh local fare, shower, get work done or just sink into one of the plush armchairs and forget about the chaos of LAX outside.

Want in? Here’s the deal. Star Alliance Lounges are open to Star Alliance Gold members and members flying international Business or First Class on one of the alliance’s 25+ member airlines including United, Lufthansa, Air Canada, ANA and more. Just flash your boarding pass and status card at the door.

Not a frequent flyer? You might still score access—some Star Alliance lounges (including LAX) have started offering paid entry or day passes, and certain Priority Pass memberships may also get you through the door. Find all the details here.

If you're a Star Alliance member passing through LAX soon, consider arriving early. With a drink in hand, firepits glowing and jets gliding past against a Hollywood sunset, there’s no better way to wait for your flight.
