Cinema enthusiasts and high-profile collectors are preparing for one of the summer’s premier pop-culture events: Propstore has announced its Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, taking place from August 26 to 29 in Los Angeles. Spanning four days, the massive event features over 1,400 film and television lots, along with more than 300 pieces of autographed sports and entertainment memorabilia, including iconic film costumes, props and more.
Hosted in-person on the first day at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles—with global telephone and online bidding available throughout—the auction boasts pre-sale estimates totaling millions of dollars. John Travolta’s Saturday Night Fever Suit
Estimate: $$200,000-$400,000
Tony Manero’s white three-piece suit is legendary. Custom-tailored by Leading Male in Brooklyn with a shirt stitched directly into flared trousers, it allowed Travolta uninhibited movement on the dance floor. Formerly owned by renowned film critic Gene Siskel, it features a handwritten inscription inside from Travolta: "To Gene, So here’s to a classic, your friend, John Travolta."
Frank the Rabbit Costume from Donnie Darko
Estimate: $100,000-$200,000
