The 20 best L.A. restaurants for delivery tonight

These are our favorite delivery options from DoorDash—for those nights we'd like to stay in when we dine out

Time Out Los Angeles in association with DoorDash

L.A. is a city that loves to go out, but we're also pretty dedicated to our TV shows—meaning that when the next season of Narcos or Game of Thrones hits, there's no way in hell that we're leaving our house, thankyouverymuch. That being said, we still need our sushi, or ramen, or even an acai bowl. That's where DoorDash comes in. We've tracked down our favorite restaurants that deliver with DoorDash, making it a lifesaver when we can't move from our couch because the Rams are about to score a touchdown (Guys! We have a football team now!). Check out these DoorDash delivery options for those nights when stepping outside for a momentary meal is just not happening.

Plan Check

1. Plan Check

After its original location in Sawtelle drew crowds for drool-worthy burgers and that heavenly fried chicken sandwich, Plan Check has since spread to Fairfax and DTLA, and now offers its comfort food hits on DoorDash. You can't go wrong with the burgers here, like the K-BBQ Burger topped with kimcheese (gruyere seasoned with dried kimchi) or the PCB (Plan Check Burger). Throw one of their signature cruller donuts into your order—they're stuffed with cream and fruit, and will send you into a sugar coma (that's a good thing, promise).

2. Mendocino Farms

Mendocino Farms is a sandwich shop on steroids. Along with cheffy versions of standard classics like an Italian hoagie and grilled ham and cheese, the shop (which has 10 locations across Los Angeles) has gained a solid cult following with unique offerings like their "Not So Fried" chicken sandwich (pictured here), an outstanding pork belly banh mi and their vegan offerings. Mendo, as it's affectionately called, also has a robust offering of salads that are just as crave-worthy as the sandwiches. You're going to want to leave Subway behind for this one.

3. Simmzy's

Simmzy's is now in locations all over LA—a few spots in the South Bay, along with Venice and Burbank—and they're bringing their gastropub food straight to your doorstep. Choose from wings, grilled street corn and pepper poppers to nourish you while you're watching the game, or go for something more substantial, like the Thai turkey burger with a ginger and lemongrass turkey patty. There's a pretty sweet kid's menu too, plus chocolate pudding for dessert.

Seoul Sausage Company

4. Seoul Sausage Company

Inspired by the ubiquitous Korean taco, founders Chris Oh, Ted Kim and Yong Kim attempted to do something different in 2010 with the creation of a Korean hot dog food truck. Fast forward two years, and there are now a couple Seoul Sausage outposts—and thankfully, they deliver. Sausages and burgers abound, but so do balls: the Spam Musubi Ball brings together spam fried rice, pineapple, corn, macaroni and rice with teriyaki. You'd be wise to order the Kalbi Poutine, too, which are short ribs served on top of twice-fried French fries with cheese, kimchi pickled onions and avocado lime crema.

5. Masa of Echo Park

The Chicago deep dish at Masa of Echo Park is the real deal. A 2-inch deep pie made with fresh cornmeal crust and filled with cheesy sauces and chunky toppings are enough to feed an army (or, you know, just one really hungry couch potato). Choose from traditional (Masa's sweet Italian sausage and mushrooms) or veg-friendly options (whole-leaf spinach and sun-dried tomatoes), along with starters, soups and salads. There are also burgers and pastas, but let's face it—you're craving the deep dish.

6. Coolhaus

You've reached a whole other level if you're ordering ice cream sandwiches through the internet—but sometimes the day just calls for it. Coolhaus has maintainted its status as one of L.A.'s best ice cream shops for years, offering whimsical flavors (balsamic fig and mascarpone, anyone?) and soft cookies that are as good as mom makes 'em. Coolhaus will deliver scoops, sandwiches, pints and cookies on DoorDash, along with milkshakes, coffee and candy.

7. Jinya Ramen Bar

Despite L.A.'s proliferation of ramen shops, Jinya remains one of the best. The tonkotsu specialist offers a full slate of pork-based ramen, all of which smack strong with not only pork, but also what someone there might tell you is an "industrial" amount of dashi (Japanese soup base) and dried fish. Purists can order the Tonkotsu Original to appreciate the remarkable umami of this soup. For the adventurous diners, there’s the Tonkotsu Red, which takes its name from the daunting amount of red chili oil liberally applied.

Sweetfin Poke

8. Sweetfin Poke

Culinary wiz Dakota Weiss (a former contestant on Top Chef) has reinvented the traditional poke bowl at Sweetfin Poke. Unlike the usual white or brown rice fare, you’ll choose from an uplifted base selection of green bamboo rice (same sushi rice texture but healthier), fresh kelp noodles and cucumber slaw, or a citrus kale salad. Top off your poke experience with a build-your-own bowl or choose from a myriad of signature dishes like the mango albacore with ponzu-lime, macadamia nuts and ginger or the spicy yuzu salmon tossed with yuzu koshu sauce, edamame and fresh lime. Add on a matcha pop for a sweet finish.

9. Backyard Bowls

Born in Santa Barbara, Backyard Bowls has made its way to L.A. with some seriously fantastic acai bowls. It's not just that the sizeable portions are well worth the average $10 you'll be spending on them (the small is plenty, trust us) but that the mangoes taste like they've been plucked straight from the trees, the bananas are always perfectly ripe, and the blended acai is consistently creamy. Place your order—Island Bowl? Green Bowl? Power Bowl? You can't go wrong.—then wait patiently for your healthy grub to arrive. There are porridge bowls, too, like Mama's Oatmeal and Ancient Grains, along with a slew of smoothies and Four Barrel coffee.

10. Zankou Chicken

Zankou Chicken has a strong cult following in L.A. With seven locations dotting the county (and one in Anaheim), there's a chance you'll be able to order the Mediterranean chain in your vicinity when the craving for Zankou's rotisserie chicken hits. The tender chicken can be enjoyed on plates, wraps, skewers or as one giant, half-rotisserie chicken, but there's also shawerma, falafel and a few vegan salads. Whatever you choose, be sure to stock up on Zankou's garlic sauce, which has inspired many imitations throughout the years—though none come close to the original.

11. Milo + Olive

The Westside's flour queen Zoe Nathan has created a carb lover's dream with Milo + Olive—an ode to all things wood-baked. Housemade breads include multi-grain baguette, whole-wheat potato bread, ciabatta and bagels, and pasta and pizza options abound for lunch and dinner. 13. Wurstküche

Cousins Tyler Wilson and Joseph Pitruzzelli have a hit on their hands with Wurstküche, a contemporary sausage kitchen in Venice and Downtown LA. Adventurous diners may want to try the Rattlesnake & Rabbit link with jalapeno peppers, while those looking for a more traditional meal will be satisfied with a Polish-style kielbasa. A few vegetarian options sub out the meat for eggplant or potatoes—just be sure to pair your order with a "groot" worth of skin-on frites. In case you didn't know, that amounts to a lot of fries.

Stout Burgers & Beer

14. Stout Burgers & Beer

With locations in Hollywood, Studio City and Santa Monica, Stout Burgers & Beer caters to burger fiends across the city. Their beef is ground in-house daily, with suggested beer pairings listed below each burger option. And veggie burgers? They have those, too. The comforting quinoa patty is bound together by mashed beans to form a burger that tastes indulgent without feeling unhealthy. The Bollywood Burger is slathered with a fiery chutney mayonnaise that achieves a great balance of sweet and hot (and will clear out your sinuses after a few bites). Peppery arugula gives it bite, and a pile of roasted tomatoes on top drops a deep umami bump.

15. Cafe Gratitude

If you love Cafe Gratitude but don't love the way ordering in person feels like therapy—"I'll have the I Am Grateful bowl, please"—then you'll be happy to know that DoorDash delivers from this vegan mecca. The menu is stacked with salads, sandwiches, bowls and larger entrées, like the I am Liberated: pesto kelp noodles tossed with cherry tomatoes, olives, arugula and cashew ricotta. Keep an eye out for their seasonal specials as well.

Sugarfish

16. Sugarfish

With locations all over town, Kazunori Nozawa's mini-empire favors straightforward, no-nonsense sushi over the usual 'Dragon' and 'Rainbow' rolls—as exemplified by Nozawa's trademark "Trust Me" menu, which decides diners' sushi dishes for them. You'll be able to find a to-go version of Trust Me on the DoorDash menu, an option that includes edamame and a variety of sushi, sashimi and hand rolls. There's a nice selection of à la carte items as well, like the unagi sushi and yellowtail cut rolls. Just don't ask for alterations or substitutions—Nozawa has complete confidence in its preparation, and is not usually willing to budge.

ROC Kitchen

17. ROC Kitchen

Dim sum fans on the Westside know that they don't have to hike it to the SGV for quality dumplings—they just have to order from ROC. To satisfy your xiao long bao (soup dumpling) craving, choose juicy pork or fresh Dungeness crab, followed by braised pork spare ribs and Three Cup Chicken Three Cup Chicken with fresh chiles, Thai basil and roasted garlic. Other menu items include Chinese staples: Shanghai rice cakes are tossed with chicken, Napa cabbage and spinach, while scallion pancakes are paired with a bright ginger-soy dipping sauce.

18. Superba Food + Bread

It's all about the bread at Superba, where pastries, loaves and elevated toasts draw in Angelenos looking for a hearty lunch or dinner. Avocado toast comes piled high with pickled fresnos, radish sprouts and cilantro, while bowls of grains and salads are packed with fresh ingredients that range from collard slaw and cashews to peaches and local burrata. You can also order Superba's heavenly milk buns, which come three to an order and are bursting with crème fraîche.

800 Degrees

19. 800 Degrees

800 Degrees, a Neopolitan pizza chain, has rapidly expanded across L.A. since coming into existence—not that we're bummed about it. The affordable pizza spot serves up customizable, thin crust pies, flash cooking them in a 800-degree oven before delivering them straight into your expectant hands. If designing a pie yourself isn't your jam, consider their specialty pizzas, like the tartufo made with truffle cheese, mushrooms, roasted garlic and arugula.

Kreation Kafe

20. Kreation Kafe

Not every take-out decision has to involve burgers and Thai food. For healthy eats and drinks, consider Kreation. The Kafe offers plates that serve six to ten—for breakfast, the Lox Lover includes lox, bruschetta, a Persian cucumber salad, whipped cream cheese, capers and a toasted baguette. But if you're rolling solo—or if everyone wants their own meal—wraps, tapas and salads are all available, along with tonic shots, cleanses, cold pressed smoothies and custom juices. See? Way healthier than pad Thai.
