Does West Hollywood really need another place for steak, chicken parm and martinis? If you ask Vandelay, the Texas-based hospitality group also behind now-closed Drake's Hollywood, the answer comes in the form of Hudson House. Within the newcomer's cozy, warmly lit dining room, you'll find on-the-nose design inspired by the West Village (there's several framed New Yorker covers on the walls) and polished takes on surf-and-turf classics, just like the Dallas original. Linked as of writing to three ongoing lawsuits, including a trademark infringement suit brought by the unrelated Hudson House in Redondo Beach, this Hudson House hopes to come out on top and sway Angelenos from nearby tried-and-true spots like Dan Tana's and Jones with attentive service and a shiny veneer of novelty—though we wouldn't necessarily put money on that.
