Adding some Italian-American flare to DTLA's Grand Central Market is chef Bruce Kalman and Marie Petulla's Knead & Co. Pasta Bar and Market. With dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, LA foodies can enjoy freshly made pasta at the 16-seat bar or take it to go. Either way, a view of the open kitchen as pasta makers roll out delicious strings of pasta will make the wait for food all the more enjoyable; we especially love the smoked duck agnolotti. An assortment of local and imported specialty goods like bags of pasta and sauces are available for purchase to see if you can cook up an equally delicious plate of spaghetti at home.

Located in GCM as I call it, or Grand Central Market... Knead is a solid place for some basic Italian food!

I appreciate the menu is smaller so you're not overwhelmed and it has all the essentials.  I've only had their pasta but it seems like a good place for more casual food.

A really cool business in the market - with pasta dishes made to order as well as fresh pasta that you can buy by the pound to go. Their bucatini and pork meatballs are particularly good, and I also enjoyed the agnolotti. The food is a bit pricey compared to some of the other stalls, but it is delicious and comforting. The staff is really nice and friendly as well, always a big plus in my book.

I love Union (chef Kalman's Italian restaurant in Pasadena), so I already came to Knead & Co. with high expectations. The GCM vendor is a fantastic spot to grab lunch when you're craving hearty carbs (they make all of their pasta in-house), like a plate of their smoked duck agnolotti or the meatball sub. They also have really great cannoli if you're just craving something for dessert.

YUM!  A fantastic addition to the new businesses at Grand Central Market, grab delicious Italian for any meal.  All of the pastas are fantastic, though some are more standout than others (the Duck Agnolotti had a mindblowing blend of flavors, highly recommend), and I can't wait to come back for polenta porridge and baked maccheroni and cheese. It's a tad pricey for the portions you'll see dished out, but the meals are perfectly portioned and very rich so you'll be full (but you might still be able to snag ice cream from McConnell's afterwards).
