Chef David Kuo has flipped his Mar Vista restaurant Status Kuo into Little Fatty, going back to his roots with a menu that focuses on Taiwanese soul food. Dive into classics—beef noodle soup, Sunday Gravy and mapo tofu—along with reimagined staples (hello, General Tso cauliflower). Next door, Little Fatty’s sister bar, accomplice, offers food for take-out—plus a playful drink lineup of cocktails, punches, beer and wine.

I was really bummed to find out Status Kuo (and it's killer chicken melt sandwich) was leaving us, but I'm really happy with David Kuo's new concept. Has the same internal layout as Status Kuo, but now with a new bar, Accomplice, attached next door. You can sit on either side and still order food, but if you're looking for easier conversation and less of a party stick to the Little Fatty side.

The XO Fatty Noodles and the wontons were good, but the 3 Cups Chicken was out of this world. Even something as simple as chicken friend rice still felt exciting. A great neighborhood restaurant for Mar Vista.

Kinda missed the flavors of previous Status quo restaurant, but I LOVE this new Taiwanese twist!

Tried the fatty noodles, the scallion pancakes and the Sunday gravy, and they all tastes magnificent.

Maybe a little bit on the greasy side, but my taste loves that, so I was 100% happy with that)
