Time Out says
Costa Mesa's beloved donut spot has set up shop in Santa Monica, slinging their trademark treats made fresh daily, along with their signature coffee blends: Forty Winks and Colt’s Tooth. Flavors might include honey cake or Southern gentleman pecan pie, huckleberry or maple bacon, butter and salt or Madagascar vanilla twist. There are also gluten-free donuts on hand, a sure treat for those who usually can't stomach a regular donut.

The savory ham and cheese donut at Sidecar becomes the stuff of daydreams, but so does every other donut at this Santa Monica shop. I usually get a sweet and savory option, then eat them both and feel sick the rest of the day. But like, in a good way.
delicious treats to give as gifts or eat yourself! Eat them quickly as they don't have a long shelf life. The flavors are creative and delicious but the one's I've tried are more fried than doughy - still you can't go wrong with sidecar doughnuts!
These are definitely my favorite donuts I've tasted, and I've tasted a ton of donuts in my day, being a food writer! I love that they use carefully sourced, local and seasonal ingredients, and that the donuts are super fresh. They don't feel heavy when you eat them, and my favorite ones are the ones that have toppings, such as creams and custards. Somehow, all the flavors and textures go great together without it being overwhelming. Definitely check them out at their locations, either in LA or the OC!
The very best donuts in California. I don't know what they do to them but they are delicious. Their flavors are unique as well. Check them out every month for special flavors. Their huckleberry and donut holes are a MUST.
