Housed in the old Bull & Butterfly space, Superfine Playa is Steve and Dina Samson’s Westside contribution to the city’s oversubscribed Italian dining scene. Unlike their Arts District original, Rossoblu, which focuses on regional Emilia-Romagna cuisine, Superfine Playa adds pops of playful creativity through a broadly Cal-Italian menu of pastas, wood-fired proteins, soups and salads. Soon, the restaurant will offer the same pizzas from the pair’s other Downtown concept, Superfine Pizza, alongside the vino list focusing on family-run wineries and craft cocktails. Don’t miss the bigeye tuna crudo toast and kid-friendly strawberry hand pie.
