Whatever the weather this weekend, Downtown's Ace Hotel is bringing the island vibes with The Tropics, a rum-and-reggae–filled progressive party that starts in the hotel's ground-floor restaurant, then moves to the rooftop for even more fun.
Starting at 11am, hit the Michael Cimarusti restaurant, Best Girl, where the recent James Beard Award winner not only designed a tropical supplemental brunch menu of dishes such as conch fritters and specials like rare-rum flights—he'll also be DJing a vinyl set of old-school reggae from his personal record collection.
Then, starting at 1pm, head upstairs to the rooftop for specials such as jerk chicken tacos, poolside frozen drinks, and a more contemporary-reggae and dance-hall DJ set from Boss Harmony, til 6pm. L.A.'s looking sunnier already.
