Time Out says

It's not as if République doesn't already have one of the best wine lists in town. It's just that now, once a month, the restaurant is hosting a dinner devoted to the perfect pour.

Kicking off on February 26, Walter and Margarita Manzke's stellar stalwart is launching a new monthly wine dinner, where four courses from the chef couple will complement wines from a rotating vintner. République's wine director, Sam Rethmeier, helped to curate the list of ever-changing winemakers, who'll be visiting from storied growing regions around the world as well as California's own coasts and valleys.

Starting the series is Michael Cruse of Cruse Wine Co., who also happened to be named the San Francisco Chronicle's 2016 winemaker of the year. Cruse will be on hand and pouring through his California-forward wines made from grapes in Napa Valley, Mendocino County, the Sierra Foothills and more, while you'll be sipping and dining at the restaurant's communal "kitchen tables" in the heart of one of La Brea's most historic buildings.

Tickets run $125 per guest and must be reserved prior to the dinner (call 310-362-6115 or email info@republiquela.com to lock them down).
