Located at the Elysian in Echo Park is Winsome, Marc Rose and Med Abrous’s (The Spare Room) homage to the flavors of Southern California. Sit at either a communal or private table surrounded by greenery in the outdoor patio or inside with a view of the open kitchen, and enjoy executive chef Jeremy Strubel’s menu of Los Angeles-inspired fare such as Kennebeck potato chips (lime, chili kaffir) to share, or the Harissa chicken salad sandwich (celery hearts, spinach, on a Kaiser roll). Pastry chef Leslie Mialma (République) will also make breads, baked goods and desserts available to be paired with a drink from the coffee bar featuring La Colombe Coffee Roasters. If you constantly find yourself in Echo Park, this is bound to become to your go-to spot.

A great location, loved the vibe and the decor. The food was good, although there was a bit of confusion with my main. The toast was all too much like a substantial doorstop but it was lovely bread. For me it was simply the service that let it down. Sad.

Somehow, Winsome is always the first to pop in my head whenever I need to take someone to brunch. Grits, eggs, bacon, mimosas... what more do you need?

I had a great meal here recently—the food was delicious the space is cute and the staff was wonderful. Everything we ate was delicious, but the Rockfish Boil and Simmer is the dish I keep thinking about. Completely different from anything I've had before and loaded with flavor, I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone.

I love the design of the restaurant, and their food is incredible for brunch, lunch, and dinner. It's one of the best new places in LA for sure.
