Josiah McElheny, "Some thoughts about the abstract body"

In advance of three upcoming museum exhibitions, McElheny offers his latest body of work for his third show at the gallery. The works echo the artist's efforts from more than ten years ago, exploring abstraction through the prism of the fashion industry. Using sculptural assemblages, ethereal wall works and a performance taking place six times a week, McElheny pushes for a true understanding of the human form within the context of the idealized images that surround it.
