"Siren"

The four women in this show—Dineo Seshee Bopape, Sally Dennison, Narcissister and Pinar Yolacan—all utilize representations of the female body, whether their own or that of others, to express their worldview. Yolacan's covered figures recline in various mysterious and intriguing poses. In Dennison's photographs, bodies attempt to free themselves from plastic, a metaphor for environmental constraints on the body. Narcissister and Bopape both present powerful videos that depict women in various states of independence from and in opposition to males.
