A Manhattan Burger King location wants to start serving booze

In an effort to somehow make a meal from Burger King sound even relatively appealing, a franchise of the chain in Manhattan is looking to start serving alcohol.

According to a report from DNAinfo, the owners of the chain's location at 474 Seventh Ave came to the local community board to begin applying for a liquor license. The idea makes sense in a way: getting patrons drunk could make them forget that they're eating a grotesque fast food sandwich in a city filled with delicious cheap burgers

The Burger King location is looking to follow other fast food chains around the country that have obtained liquor licenses in recent years. In 2015, Chicago got its first boozy Taco Bell location, and the city already has a second on the way. Shake Shack serves alcohol at several of its locations, but comparing that NYC gem to BK is like comparing a nice glass of rosé to a puddle of water on a subway platform.

That said, if the location does obtain a liquor license, we'd be very curious to discover what a rowdy, drunk night at a Burger King looks like.
