National Geographic is currently looking for the 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year.

The photo contest is open to all photographers, whether they're a professional with a plethora of gear or an amateur with just an iPhone. The images are meant to celebrate the “diversity of the world’s people, places and cultures” and must have been shot in the past two years.

Whoever wins the title will be able to claim the grand prize of a seven-day Polar Bear Safari at Churchill Wild-Seal River Heritage Lodge where the winner will have the opportunity to photograph Polar Bears and other wildlife as part of a National Geographic Expedition.

So far, a number of the entries have managed to beautifully capture New York City. Check out some of them below.

I was observing the movement of people through this grand hall. I went up to the balcony and rested my camera on the thick railing (tripods are not allowed). Stopped the lens down as much as possible and wound up with an 8 sec shot. Photo and caption by Gene Nemeth / National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year Contest

Had a chance to take up the Pentax 645z while on a trip in New York. What an incredible camera to shot aerial with over NYC.Photo and caption by Toby Harriman / National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year Contest
